The movie "The Black Hole" (1979)
Not a big hit in theaters, but all the same an excellent movie. A dark film, the only flaw is the "Disney" look of the robots (understandable since Disney made it), and the weak ending.

..straight forward...no bs..this is in the top 5 of my all time sci fi classics. The list im still trying to decide on..lol..but seriously though..Disney did have a "vision" of our future though...i.e Tron..need i go on?..They were on to something grand

Some parts of this scene are incredible. Most of it is pretty good. Some, however, like VINCENT's hand-to-hand beating of the security sentries and his 360 in celebration are terribly, horribly, pathetically bad. Even the exceptional score takes a dip in quality for that scene.

A retarded monkey could have done better than that. It really is one of the worst action shots in the entire sci-fi movie genre. It's so out of place with the rest of the well-done movie that it's painful in comparison. The droids were horrible, though they had good voice acting at least.

I saw this movie 3 years after it's release. Fortunately it was on the big screen and OMG! It had to this this day some of the most stunning images ever: The darkness and inmensity of space unlike any movie before or since. By the way does anybody have the Disney "making of" special I remember it being HILARIOUS, The host's name (Joseph Bottoms) was Major Effect & had some funny skits using special effects.

This movie really scared me as a kid, mainly because of the face beneath the metal mask. I remember thinking it was awfully dark for a Disney movie, but now it looks kind of interesting.

it even made sense. keep in mind: when you are attacked by a red lurking robot flying at you, with twisting knife blades in front of him........looking shocked and keeping your arms up in defense would be pretty "reallife".

Well, it could have great potential to be ruined, but depending on who the producers would be and the director that would be hired, it could actually work. They'd need a really good crew, though...and I think it would be interesting if the cast was all made up of notable sci-fi actors... Darn, if I was old enough and actually had film experience, I'd freaking direct the remake ;)

I was 7 when this came out. I remember I loved it, although I really didn't know what was going on. It did scare me quite a few times.

I saw this film in the movie theater on it's original release date. It was unfairly compared to Star Wars IV as was most special effects sci-fi films of that era. Yeah, Star Wars IV started the trend, but that didn't mean every other film that followed was inferior. The Black Hole remains under appreciated. Thanks for uploading the clip.
