I visited there in June of 2008 around the Dingle Penninsula and that place has GOT to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet! I wished I was there right now. Most ALL the people we encountered were polite (except a few but no big deal). In Dingle, there is a little hot-dog cart next to Murphys pub and the guy that owns it is named "Tom". He is from Liverpool, England but now resides there and was really a very polite dude. It was fun getting to meet new people and make new friends.
I loved travelling ... ( 4 days ago by roughrider040)
I loved travelling around and exploring the castles and castle ruins and learning the history behind them. What an awesome place to be! BUT, it was a real challenge for me to learn how to drive on the left side of the road while sitting on the right side of the car! I just used my commonsense and just picked a car in front of me and followed it and did what they did by watching. That way I learned what the road signs meant because they're in Gaelic language. It worked for me! :-)

Also, exploring the Abbey in Killarney and the Ross Castle was interesting. Took a drive around the Ring of Kerry and explored other castles and ruins (very cool), and found a "Holy Well" along the way. Food was pricey compared to here in the U.S. but GOOD BEER! :-) Guiness everywhere you looked! Cheers! The Connor Pass was cool. Good views and mountain lakes. Loved riding horses on the beach at Maharees. It was neat watching the Gannet birds diving for fish from way up high!

I know, I said sometimes... I am who I am through the experiences I've been through in America. Regardless, I am going to work for a permanent residential card in Ireland after I graduate college. I'm not saying the U.S. is bad... I just feel I have a calling there. I have an accent from family and friends, and the naturaul thing people do here is judge me because of it, they don't understand what I'm saying half the time, and I'm proud to be an Irish/American and I'm not about to change.
