'The Office' was great, but looking at the reruns of Alan Partridge on freeview, it's clear just how much Gervais owes to Coogan. And I'd say Coogan has greater comedy character acting ability whereas Gervais is really a one trick pony - which he'd probably admit to himself.

I'm really glad you made that comment because I always see similarities in Gervais and Coogan! Thought I was the only one. Gervais has actuall used material of Coogans but just in different situations....both excellent though!
