Men's Issues

Uploaded by: 1menaregood1
Video Description:
What are men's issues? Watch this short flash video to get a beginning idea. Societal forces like chivalry, misandry and the onerous male sex role of provide and protect have been having the unfortunate consequence of obscuring the needs of men. This short video will give you an introductory glimpse of some men's issues.

Excellent video, and a reminder that men deal with even more oppression in the west, than women do, and that feminism,(and the system?), has been trying to obscure this fact. I'm adding this to my favorites list, thanks.

I can never understand that. I am very curious to understand why.
Maybe they are angry, because the sensitive man is indulging in a luxury that they feel they have not been allowed. Maybe they are jealous.

I know it is sad I've seen black men treated like shit (I am white)they are my brothers and I've met so many nice black males it makes me sick.I hope Obama will do something to destroy misandry once and for all.love you all brothers!

The greatest problem the human race has is that it always goes to extremes. America was good for standing up for minorities and womans rights. It's too bad we had to dump men's rights to do it. Equality will never be achieved anywhere in the world ever, because people are asshats.

Obama won't do f**king s**t! he is with NOW & VAWA. McCain was the guy who probably would have ignored it, but now that Obama's here, it's not going to be as easy as you think. Last I've heard, he was involved in these organizations. Why do you think he was voted? women voted for him for a damn good reason. And Hilary is there to lets not forget

It would be a great idea to do one on sexism and racism. All men have a great deal in common and all men have a common enemy, the culture. We need to find ways to unite ourselves but that is very difficult considering the dominance hierarchy and a man's nature.

Cool video. One thing I can't understand is why there's so much support for women's organizations from men, yet there's almost no support for men from women.
I've never been a misogynist but now I'm starting to really hate women, thank nature I'm gay.
Kromsoth, Great ... ( 1 month ago by 1menaregood1)
Kromsoth, Great question. The problem boils down to the rigid male sex role of provide and protect which has been in force for thousands of years. This role stipulates that men should provide the resources for their families and protect them as best they can. Note that the traditional flow of resources in both families and communities flows from men to women to children.
This old role sets up the men of today to support women's issues and excuses women from doing the same for men.

Hello. I'm a girl, and I totally believe that men and women should both be at equal terms and that standards should be set for both genders to be given completely equal rights, regardless of what they are. And although I'm not a guy, I do feel sorry for men who have suffered several accusations and they are the ones that are continuously laughed at due to sexual violence. (I really did see a guy cry when he hurt his groin) But the vid kinda seems as though you hate women. Um...do you?

I'd be happy to answer your question about whether I hate women but first I hope you will allow me to ask for a little clarification. What is the reason for such a question? The video is about men's issues and doesn't focus on women. What would make you want to ask such a question? What evidence exists that I might indeed hate women? It's as if this had been a video about penguins and you asked me why I hated eagles. It just doesn't make any sense. Can you help me out here?

Sorry, I kinda had a run in with a sexist not to long ago, as in, he really didn't like women (a colleague no less). And my mind probably just wandered to that question. Sorry about that.

Not to worry. ... ( 1 month ago by 1menaregood1)
Not to worry. Actually your question, "Do you hate women" is instructive since it is likely the #1 question people ask when men voice their own needs.
Here's why:
The rigid male sex role of "provide and protect" directs men to care for the needs of women and children. If a man mentions *his own needs* he is often questioned as to whether he "really cares about" (hates) women. These questions push men to care for women, and silence their own needs.
It's time we consider the needs of all.

Both of my parents, ever since I was born, have been forcing feminist ideas down my throat. My dad laughs at me when I tell him that men are victims, too. When told the same thing, my mom tells me that women are smarter than men, better at raising children than men, and better than men. The moment I began questioning what my parents have taught me, I felt better about being a man. When I first started getting into men's rights activism, my mom called me a misogynist. I couldn't believe it.

Congratulations to you for surviving the programming you seem to have withstood. Sometimes I think our entire culture needs to be deprogrammed from all of the misinformation that we have been fed. How about asking your parents to look at the video and post their comments? Might be interesting. You might also want to contact NCFM.

It's in some way, woman's fault that we, men have those issues, so women are to blame.
I wish I could kill all women, but I can't, so I just yell at them about those things, until they feel guilty about being women.
