    It's fascinating that you can hear he came from Lennie Tristano...but was also laying the foundation for Herbie, Chick, Ritchie Beirach and many others. In terms of creating an influential style, only McCoy Tyner was his equal at this time.

    this is such a good example of bill evans' rhythmic displacement of the melody... just check out the way he comes in and the first few phrases

    .....little did you know the Beatles would still be the most popular and influential band ever, but Bill is equally as influential in his own right still to this day.

    Yea I had the same thought, it's definitely Le Mesurier. I love these clips of Bill from this era ... I was in my teens and listening to the Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Little did I know ......
