people this short was made way before the movie, so it doesnt have the same story, this was actually made mostly by shane acker as his college thesis, and changed a lot as he got help from different people.

better then the movie, for me.

I loved the movie, but this was just painfully slow and boring.

This is the short film the film was based upon. Not everythings the same

I liked this version because it displayed a real feel of isolation that the movie didn't. But i kind of liked the fact that the movie had more of a storyline.

@doucthec Actually, I frequently find the shorts to be better... Often, when they expand a short story/film into a feature, it becomes much less focused. Either way, you're right - a short story generally describes a single, focused event. For that reason, they're actually often harder to write than full-length novels/screenplays - you have to have a simple enough idea that stands on its own. Establish characters, scene, plot and tie it all up within a short amount of time.
