Yes, of course. I'm not scared of drinking; it's not like I'm going to avoid it at all costs. I just won't be going out as soon as I'm old enough and intentionally getting drunk. Moderation is key, as they say. Plus, a little red wine supposedly has health benefits.

@inkypaws2 I respect your position, however there is an argument to be made for moderation (for those for whom that is possible). there is a tendency for the fear of a thing to be more disruptive than the thing itself, and that is something to avoid. for myself, I drink on occasion, but was very cautious when i started because there is alcoholism in my family and I wanted to be sure that I would be able to handle it. best of luck with this, and other decisions you'll face.

This is why I don't care if I ever have an alcoholic drink, and I will never smoke or use drugs. I haven't done a single one of those yet, and the second two I definitely never will. I may try wine, but I don't care if I do or not... (By the way, I'm 17.)

To atheno2003: He is talking about Alcoholic Anonymous (AA). There are also Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Gamblers Anonymous(GA), etc. They're groups that meet to help each other get better. Thanks to Craig, I joined Overeaters Anonymous (OA); it has already made a big difference in my life. I am not sure where you are writing from but you may check the web for what exists in your area. [I am not assuming you need anything but someone you know might.] Thanks for being brave enough to ask!
