The Maori r a team of up & coming players, or old stalwarts within the Maori players, they r not the cream, as they all go to the AB's. They had less game time than the "elite" players in the lions in 05, but still won. Still dont get what u mean about Maori being foreigners in the the NZ team, u may have to spell that one out a bit more clearly & say what u really mean.

So.. 1 British isles club team meets 1 other British isles club team once in a Year. 1 British isles nation meets 1 British isles nation once in a Year Hence players are strangers..with their (quote) "getting to know each other on tour" (2 weeks "prep") Foreigners in NZ team are Maori, Rokocoko, Sivivatu etc (they grew up in same house!!)

The Maori team changes from season to season, like any team. About the only thing they have in common is that they generally are super 14 & ANZ cup players, just like the lions play in heiniken, guinnes comps. Err i think you will find that all of the maoris are related to one another in some form. That and they have played together in the same team, or the same league, or the same nation. The Lions are XV strangers.... different clubs, different leagues, different nations. Thrown together for 2 weeks and then expected to play a test in the backyard of a national team thats been together for years. The biggest number of foreigners (non New Zealanders) in the NZ team are Maori. FACT
