Great job explaining how this is done! You've earned that beer. Now i'm going to try and replace the timing chain on my XR600R...

I just used this method today on my ute , with the help of an experienced mechanic I know, he taught me this, and I was wondering how many others know about it.... It was sooo easy in the end !!! saved alot of time and money

Its not professional at all, he even calls it a redneck method, lol if somebody tells you something is a redneck method you can't take what there going to tell you like its the answer to life, but I must admit, I'v seen many professionals do this.

If you did this without taking the time to record it how long would this take you? Great vid btw.

  11. Nov 12, 2009 at 05:40 PM by carbpumper

he doesnt even do that in this vid stupid

  12. Nov 1, 2009 at 01:31 PM by ninjaskillz3000

This is just pure hack work. A real technician would never do that. And on a early 80's XL...seriously? I can pull that engine in 15 minutes and R+R cam chain the right way in the same amount of time it would take to do this. I wish I had more hands....I'd give this video four thumbs down.
