The only way to forever prevent the boom bust cycle in real estate is to take the profit out of land speculation because the land portion of all real estate is the only value that increases. The simple if not easy way to do this is to shift taxation onto land values starting with property taxes and then replacing other taxes with increased land values taxes. This will end land speculation lowering the cost of land and thus the cost of housing etc. requiring capital to find real places to go..

For a sober , thought out viewpoint, check out Nuriel Roubini. This man forecast the credit crunch in detail, and is predicting a U shaped recovery this year onwards. Sorry to disapoint.

peter must have a good laugh when he watches this old footage and rightfully so he was right and people were ignorant or assumed they were smarter then him. they treated him poorly. Peter Schiff was right! he is a champion

What the f*** is wrong with people. The worst aspect isn't even all those peoples stupidity - except Peter, of course - but the sad fact that they probably haven't learned by their mistakes and joined rank with Peter Schiff and The Mises Institute. Pride and stupidity will impoverish us all.

Damn, Peter is growing gray compared to back then!

I really, really hope that Peter Schiff wins the Senate race. This is about the economy and lets face it another lawyer like super Dick is not up to the task. When given a chance Peter will wipe the floor with super Dick in an economic debate. I live in CT and I couldn't be more proud to be able e to vote for Peter. Peter's understanding of the economy is second to none.

It is an obvious manipulation of news and media to fleece the American population. So, when a guy like Peter comes along, it SCREAMS truth. It exposes the bullshit we've been fed for 30 years. The Libertarian front is going to be a Tsunami. GOP and Democrats are all done!!!
