Moonwalker was originally only issued on DVD in PAL regions (like Europe) that employ a 576i standard-definition video mode. "Motion pictures are typically shot on film at 24 frames per second. When telecined [converted to video] and played back at 576i25's standard of 25 frames per second, films run 4% faster." (quote from Wikipedia: 576i) so the effect was not intentional, but rather a side-effect. a Blu-Ray of Moonwalker is supposedly coming out soon that will hopefully fix this.

Thanx. I don't think it's bad, I just prefer the slower or regular version. I wonder if this "phenomenon" can be applied to any song - if not, it's quite an accomplishment to those whose works it can be applied to - for example, I've heard some disco songs at different speeds and I'm mixed on those - then there's Bananarama's "Cruel Summer" which sounds worse when slowed but still okay. MJ definitely understood music. Shoudn't contemporary artists learn from these that came b4??
